Artistic Companions
Yoann Piovoso
Musician
Multi-instrumentalist (keyboards, drums , computer, vocals, etc.), Yoann Piovoso began his career in jazz and today offers experimental music, often soaring and always melodic.
His work combines a taste for excursions and sound adventures, in the interweaving of contemporary music and improvised music, not without picking up writings loaded with these poetic flashes that go beyond words. His latest album, Certain Days, Certain Nights, brings together created texts, more recited than sung, when they are not simply instrumental. Yoan Piovoso generates musical material with mutant and moving contours, with the appearance of precipices that hang by a thread. Voice, harp, Rhodes, flute and analog synthesizer are the vehicles that allow him to capture the fleeting moments of time and the visceral emotions that knock on the doors of the subconscious.
There are days that border on night; there are nights that only ask to see the light of day. In the interstices and breaches caused by these temporal tugs, cohorts of inflections, impulses, temptations, sensations that can only escape straight gazes, hollow bodies, and corseted souls shake themselves. The existences of elsewhere, in other words those that are nestled in the hollows of our earthly envelopes, this is what Yoann PIOVOSO seeks to translate in his music: from here, or from there, in this faraway place right next to us.
